VIDAR RELEASES CLINICALEXPRESS® 4.1 — CE-MDD EDITION

DICOM Film Acquisition Software for General Radiography/Mammography

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (September 15, 2008) HERNDON, VA —VIDAR Systems Corporation, a leader in medical imaging technology today announced the release of ClinicalExpress® 4.1, the CE-MDD edition of its DICOM film acquisition software. ClinicalExpress 4.1 is available in English, German, Spanish and Italian.

ClinicalExpress 4.1 was developed specifically for use with VIDAR's line of film digitizers – the CAD PRO^® Advantage, DiagnosticPRO^® Advantageand SIERRA plus. “While the key feature of this software release is targeted at the European market, the software was developed to allow prior or outside films to be effortlessly integrated into the soft copy reading workflow. In addition to the ability to support both General Radiography sites as well as low- to mid-volume mammography digitization of priors, the software offers automatic segmentation of CT and MR images, can scan 51” spinal films, and supports DICOM PDI and Modality Worklist standards,” said Mary Harp, Medical Business Line Director. By complying with the DICOM 3.0 standard to digitize prior films, the software sends the images to the PACS archive, mammography reading workstation or other DICOM-compliant workstation where radiologists can see prior images along with the new digital study without moving between two different reading technologies – a soft read workstation and a film view box.

ClinicalExpress 4.1 is available in modules to build a cost-effective solution for specific needs. Choose from the base package for general radiography or the base package for mammography – or combine the two. Add-on modules for Modality Worklist and/or PDI are available to complete solutions. This application meets regulatory requirements specific to the European market as well as the US market. ClinicalExpress 4.1 can be obtained from selected VIDAR Partners.
